Tapeworms are GROSS !
As tapeworms generally cause few clinical signs in dogs themselves , the first time their owner might become aware there ’ s a problem is when they spot segments near their pet ’ s anus or in their faeces . This disgusting discovery can cause significant anxiety for owners when they realise their dog is infested with tapeworms .
It ’ s easy to reduce this stress for owners through effective tapeworm control . Although the tapeworm Dipylidium caninum may be controlled through regular flea treatment , poor adherence and exposure to tapeworms ( incl . other species ) in the environment , may mean dogs are not adequately covered .
A comprehensive understanding of the lifestyle of the dog and where and how it may be exposed is required to ensure adequate tapeworm control . Alternatively , consider an effective wormer that protects against all major worms , including tapeworm .
