Introducing the new BVNA President
At the BVNA AGM taking place on Saturday 10 October at BVNA Congress 2026, BVNA President Sarah Holliday, RVN, will hand over the presidential reins to Steph Worsley, RVN, for 2026 – 2027.
Steph commented:“ I am immensely proud to be stepping into the role of President. Having been a BVNA member for more than 20 years and subsequently volunteered for BVNA in a variety of capacities over the past 18 years, I am looking forward to applying this experience to serve BVNA members and the veterinary nursing profession to the very best of my ability.
“ It will also be an honour to take up this role supported by such an enthusiastic officer team, alongside our wider BVNA Council, who all share a strong drive to champion veterinary nurses at every opportunity.”

Workplace stress is an increasingly recognised challenge within veterinary nursing and can have a significant impact on personal wellbeing and professional performance. Creating a healthy working environment requires more than simply responding when problems arise; it involves recognising early signs of stress, encouraging open conversations and taking proactive steps to support staff wellbeing. A positive workplace culture, where employees feel valued, listened to and supported, benefits the individual and the wider practice through improved morale, retention and patient care. Veterinary nurses( VNs) should feel confident to raise concerns if work is affecting their health, and know that support is available within the workplace and from external organisations.
