I ' m an RVN with a passion for in-patient care, quality improvement and education. I ' ve worked across a variety of clinical settings and currently work as a lead medical nurse at Birstall Vets4Pets, where I champion high standards of nursing care and team development.
I recently completed a teaching role at Derby College and have studied for postgraduate certificates at the Royal Veterinary College, and presented on clinical audit, communication and nursing leadership. I ' m passionate about brachycephalic animal welfare and promoting inclusivity, wellbeing and work – life balance in our profession.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, ceramics and running a book club with my colleagues. I live with my rescue French bulldog, Ivy, and spend far too much time nurturing my sourdough starter, appropriately named Doughy Parton.
I ' m really looking forward to being part of the BVNA community and connecting with fellow veterinary professionals.
I am an RVN with a Level 3 diploma in veterinary nursing. I started my career in small animal practice, before moving into farm practice, where I discovered my true passion. I ' m also a suitably qualified person for farm animals, so I can provide advice on and prescribe certain veterinary medicines.
I have a strong interest in improving farm animal welfare and work closely with my veterinary colleagues to deliver a collaborative approach to herd and flock health. My role is hands-on and varied, and includes assisting with farm animal surgeries, monitoring anaesthetics, performing postoperative checks and supporting farmers with preventative health strategies that improve productivity, welfare and sustainability. I ' m also passionate about promoting and growing opportunities for VNs in farm practice, and showcasing the valuable role they can play within the agricultural industry.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in the countryside, walking and socialising with friends. You may also find me in a milking parlour!

I ' m an RVN with a passion for in-patient care and all things medicine. I particularly enjoy getting geeky with the microscope and exploring diagnostic imaging; you ' ll often find me absorbed in the details of a fine-needle aspirate or in the imaging suite with the ultrasound machine.
My career has taken a rewarding path into VN development, where I enjoy supporting and inspiring the next generation of VNs. I ' m proud to be involved at such a pivotal time in our profession, with exciting opportunities to shape the future of veterinary nursing. When I ' m not in practice, I love being outdoors and have discovered a love of carp fishing.
I am a third-year veterinary nursing student, currently finishing my college theory work and I will be working towards my OSCEs in early 2026. I ' ve been working at Glenthorne Vets for 3 years, where I was a veterinary care assistant for a year before being offered the opportunity to become an RVN.
It has been a journey that has pushed me out of my comfort zone and given me the confidence to achieve things I never thought possible. I ' m really looking forward to working with the other Council members and learning from their experiences.
