Voting opens for the 2024 BVNA Council elections

The candidates in the 2024 BVNA Council elections have released their manifestos and voting is underway . Here ' s a round-up of the hard-working RVNs who would like to represent you on the BVNA Council next year .
The BVNA Council is an elected team of veterinary nurses ( VNs ) from around the UK who volunteer as Council members alongside their work and family commitments .
The Council meets every 6 – 8 weeks and each Council member is elected for a 3-year term . The terms of office are staggered , so there are new Council members joining every year .
The Council members undertake individual roles , chosen by themselves , and build on their own personal strengths and experience . They share a common desire to represent the veterinary nursing profession and a wholehearted belief in what veterinary nurses can achieve .
Amber Smith Hamish Morrin
I am seeking to join the BVNA Council to support the veterinary nursing profession and to cultivate awareness of the importance of the role of RVN .
My passion is human support . If elected to the BVNA Council , I would listen to the concerns of RVNs and SVNs and bring them to discussions with stakeholders .
Leanne Walsh Simone Bennett
If elected , my aims include broadening people ' s knowledge of the profession , along with improving diversity and inclusion and boosting student support .
If elected to the BVNA Council , I aim to improve mental health in the workplace and encourage VNs to attain self-actualisation and esteem .
