Referral nursing

The annual BVNA Congress is the biggest event for veterinary nurses in the UK . Our theme for 2024 is ‘ Progression ’, and we ' ll be celebrating how far the veterinary nursing profession has come , as well as holding conversations about where it could go in the future . Here ' s a preview of some of the fantastic content you can expect at BVNA Congress this year .

A full-day stream providing specialised CPD for veterinary nurses working in a referral setting , including surgery , internal medicine , oncology and neurology .

Primary care nursing and advanced nursing for the general practitioner

A full-day stream covering topics such as the nursing of osteoarthritic and diabetic patients , dental nursing , and care of neurological patients in a general practice setting .

Veterinary care assistants ( VCAs )

Information and discussion on a range of topics relating to the role of VCAs within the veterinary team , including the principles of medical care and first aid .
