We are looking for veterinary nurses with at least 5 years ' experience in the veterinary profession, together with an interest in supporting the development of the evidence base for veterinary nursing. An eye for detail, good analytical skills and the confidence to provide constructive feedback are also valuable qualities for the role.

VNJ uses a double-blind peer review process, which means that neither the authors nor the reviewers are identified during the review process. Peer review plays an important role in supporting authors and helping to strengthen and validate their work before publication.

The peer review process includes considering aspects such as the originality of the manuscript, whether it adds to existing knowledge in the field and, in the case of a literature review, whether the research appropriately reflects the current evidence base.

Reviewers may also comment on the use of references and citations, including checking for adherence to the Vancouver numerical referencing style and the inclusion of all citations in the reference list.

Peer reviewing is undertaken on a voluntary basis, with manuscripts matched to the reviewer ' s interests, experience and expertise. There is absolutely no obligation to accept an invitation to review a manuscript; if you are busy or do not feel you have enough experience, expertise or an interest in the topic, you are welcome to decline.
