POCUS- POINT OF CARE ULTRASOUND
This course will examine the benefits of ultrasonography, the basics of how ultrasonography works and how to identify normal structures. By the end of this course the veterinary nurse should be confident to perform global fluid assessment sonography for trauma( FAST) both in the triage assessment of their patients and through progression of hospital stays to monitor improvement / deterioration. It will also look to provide the veterinary nurse with the skills to recognise and score patterns in respiratory disease, cardiac disease and urinary output. It will also look at the use of ultrasound for assessment of fluid responsiveness. Interactive case studies will help to guide the attendees through the learning objectives.
