4.0 Statistical Analysis & Results
Data was collected in a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet and processed before analyses. This involved removing any data that was deemed unnecessary for final analysis and providing groups of data with a numerical code so the SPSS system was able to interpret / analyse the data. The groups of data chosen for analysis on their affect on body temperature during MRI investigations were:
• Body Condition Score( BCS)
• Patient Age
• Recumbency during Scan
• Premedication
• Scan time( minutes). Data collected for temperature decreases, BCS and scan time were inputted into SPSS in the format they were collected in, as they were already numerical values. Patient age, recumbency during scan and premedication were grouped into categories( Table 1).
