9 – 20 March‘ Ring doughnut’ dressing placed after biopsy and closure of the wound. This dressing was repeated during this period. The‘ doughnut’ was placed directly onto the leg, then Soffban, conforming bandage and vet wrap dressing was applied. A hole was cut in the dressing to enable visualisation of the wound
24 March – 24 April First silver dressing applied 28 April – 17 May Intrasite and Allevyn applied 22 May – 30 June Honey and Allevyn applied 3 July Owing to the small size of the wound, Melolin was used to protect the area 7 July Sore developed. Returned to applications of Allevyn and honey
11 July Original wound completely healed. However, a red, moist area developed below the original wound. It was decided to leave this undressed and use leg coverings only.
20 July Moist area developed at the point of the elbow. Honey and Allevyn applied 25 – 28 July Silver dressing used 1 August Honey and Allevyn applied
5 – 9 August Wound increased in size. Wound repair was performed under local anaesthetic. Melolin applied after surgery.
12 – 21 August Wound had broken down. Honey and Allevyn applied
21 August – 4 September Owners took dressing materials home, with saline to clean and re-dress the wound themselves
4 September Dressing slipped, causing rubbing and bone exposure. Wound looking better and granulating. Dressed with honey and Allevyn. Owner instructed to re-dress it in 5 days
20 – 28 September Intrasite and Allevyn applied 5 October Wound developed on other forelimb 9 October Owners opted for euthanasia
