Join us in May to celebrate 20 years of raising awareness of veterinary nursing
Every May , the veterinary profession celebrates Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month ( VNAM ), spearheaded by BVNA . In 2024 , we celebrate 20 years of the campaign , which began as Veterinary Nursing Awareness Day in 2004 before becoming VNAM in 2012 .
This year , the campaign theme is ‘ Progression ’ – with the aim of highlighting the diverse range of skills , abilities and career pathways of veterinary nurses . We ' ll also be raising public awareness of the importance of protecting the professional title of ‘ veterinary nurse ’.
We ' re inviting BVNA members and veterinary professionals everywhere to support the campaign . VNAM seeks to champion every veterinary nurse , whether they are working in first opinion or referral practice ; with small animal , equine or exotic species ; or in a clinical or non-clinical role .
Get involved in # VNAM2024
This year , we want to hear from you ! Let us know what you ' ll be doing to raise awareness of veterinary nurses throughout VNAM and we ' ll share your story via the BVNA blog and social media .
You could be planning an educational video for clients , holding an event for pet caregivers in your practice or delivering a social media campaign . Get creative , encourage your practice team to get involved and enter our VNAM competition to showcase your work .
