Figure 4 outlines the reasons why intubation was not always performed in some patients or practices . Of the 653 respondents who indicated that cats undergoing castration were not intubated every time , 66.7 % ( n = 436 ) reasoned that the procedure was too quick to allow for intubation . Of the 71 who reported that cat spays were not performed with intubation every time , 43.6 % ( n = 31 ) stated that it was dependent on the VS performing the procedure .
