I qualified in 2006 and am proud to be a veterinary nurse ( VN ). I have worked in referral practice but now work in education . As a Council member , I ' d like to advocate for mental and physical wellbeing and help to promote standards of excellence in education and professional development for VNs .
I ' m an RVN with over 8 years ' experience in practice . I ' m super-excited to begin forging positive changes and improving the work – life balance of RVNs to improve retention in the profession . I believe we must strive to make veterinary nursing more inclusive and welcoming to create a stronger and more vibrant profession .
I ' ve been an RVN for 10 years in small animal practices , emergency clinics and charity clinics , in the UK and abroad , and have enjoyed many networking opportunities during this time . I ' d like to improve the career development tools for VNs and help us to get the recognition we deserve .

I ' m proud to have been an RVN for 7 years . I ' m passionate about improving diversity and inclusivity among VNs and want to encourage conversations around this within the profession . I ' d also like to create positive changes for VNs , help to improve employee retention and work to protect our status as RVNs .
I started my veterinary nursing career in mixed practice and have also worked in emergency out of hours . For the past 8 years I ' ve been the team leader of an internal medicine department as well as working part-time in teaching . I would like to investigate ways to retain VNs by improving professional motivation and job satisfaction .
I ' ve been an RVN for over 20 years , in referrals , emergency and critical care , the charity sector and overseas . I believe flexible working opportunities and an open and supportive working environment can help to reduce chronic stress and the risk of burnout . I also feel that a structured career path would empower VNs .
