Conclusions
When admitting patients with colic , it is important to be prepared for the unexpected . Good preparation of the diagnostic equipment and the surgery theatre can save valuable time with these often critical cases .
A well-organised surgery , together with clear communication and flow between VSs and VNs , will promote optimum conditions to achieve the best outcome for the horse , owner and attending staff .
