We would like to welcome you to the BVNA family . The more members we have , the stronger our voice will be . With your help , we can make even more positive changes to the veterinary nursing profession , increase our impact on clinical practice and make a difference to your working day .
Protect the Title
BVNA ' s Protect the Title campaign aims to protect the title of ‘ veterinary nurse ’, to improve confidence in , and awareness of , the veterinary nursing role . Almost 10,000 people ( members of the public and veterinary professionals ) answered our survey , with overwhelming support for the campaign . Unbeknown to many clients , a number of people work as veterinary nurses but have not completed veterinary nurse training . Protecting the title of ‘ veterinary nurse ’ will raise awareness of the knowledge and skills held by qualified veterinary nurses and help to empower our profession .

Make a difference with BVNA
Join us in working closely with the RCVS , BVA , Defra and other stakeholders in the veterinary profession , on behalf of veterinary nurses across the UK . Here are just a few of our many campaigns and initiatives :
Chronic Illness Toolkit
The BVNA Chronic Illness Toolkit was developed in response to a campaign in which almost 1,000 veterinary professionals told us about the day-to-day challenges they faced as a result of chronic illness . The toolkit is designed to help practices and colleagues understand the support needed to improve working life .
VN Futures is an ongoing joint initiative with the RCVS , which aims to ensure that veterinary nursing is a vibrant , rewarding and sustainable profession . Among its core ambitions is a commitment to create a sustainable workforce with structured and rewarding career paths , and to develop confident , resilient , healthy and wellsupported veterinary nurses who can maximise their potential .
Student Toolkit
The BVNA Student Toolkit was developed to support student members through their veterinary nurse training . It features guidance on studying and revision , tips for improving health , wellbeing and resilience , and signposting to financial assistance , placement support and career advice .
Welfare of Pets in Schools Toolkit
The BVNA Welfare of Pets in Schools Toolkit was created to help teachers and parents understand the best approach to keeping animals in a school environment , with the aim of improving the welfare and living conditions of the animals .
