BVNA NEWS
The digital VNJ is growing each month as more of our members switch to receiving the digital version only . This helped us in receiving the silver award from Investors in the Environment again for our work on reducing our carbon footprint ( with thanks to Angela Mariconda for all the hard work she put into gathering evidence ). The platform offers a versatile , user-friendly , mobile and desktop compatible area . Features such as keyword searches in individual issues and the online archive , hyperlinks in articles to access references and resources , and multimedia content such as embedded videos . Since June 2023 , a whopping 228,000 pages have been viewed .
If you haven ’ t read your August issue yet , you only have a few weeks left before the October issue hits your in box or letter box .
Articles you may have missed in the August issue include looking at different treatment options for treating oestrus in ferrets , identifying barriers that may affect a veterinary nurse ’ s confidence in anaesthetising rabbits and how the presence of a herd mate can influence a Guinea pig ’ s exploratory behaviour . There are a couple of features which look at mindful self-care and how the death of the author ’ s parents affected her career as an RVN . And finally , there are two articles on wound management with information on how to prevent surgical site infections and an interesting case study of a common toad foot amputation . So , get reading so you are ready for your October issue .
